When does overheating cause damage?
I hit 230 – 240 degrees on my 2rz. When I noticed, I drove it maybe 3 minutes to get it off the road. Shut it down, opened the hood, ran the heater till it got down to 185. There was some coolant bubbling out of the radiator hose for a few minutes. But, no smoke, smells, or anything else concerning.
I drove it home, after it cooled to normal range and it stayed there the 20 minute trip with no concerning behavior…
Should I be paranoid any warping or head gasket damage may have happened or…
